Ever since early this Friday morning, Chef Julie Zlogar of Wooden Spoon Cafe (24 South Main St., Phoenixville) has worked diligently to prep her evening dinner special – fresh French onion soup, as well as other steamy blends. The soups have been stewing all afternoon and we are certain that the local chef’s creations are tastes that are not to be missed. Also, here’s a drool-worthy perk – her French onion is concocted with Birchrun Hills’ Farm’s Equinox cheese.

Do note: Not a single can is opened during this soup-making process, only fresh, unprocessed ingredients are added to create her original batches. Everything from chopping, roasting, sautéing, and much more, have deliciously gone into their process, and we can’t wait to slurp up each and every one.

Also on the menu for Friday night (which pairs perfectly with fresh soup) are roasted turkey sandwiches crafted with local bacon and Birchrun’s Red Cat.
