This Week’s Farmers’ Market at a Glance
The weather forecast is predicting record heat, but not to worry. Phoenixville Farmer’s Market takes place in the cool of the shade – under the steel beams of the new Gay Street (renamed Veteran’s Memorial) Bridge. Where can you get the freshest local fruits and veggies? At this week’s market, of course (Saturday, July 24 from 9am-1pm). Now in season: peaches, plums and blackberries plus tomatoes, zucchinis and corn. Of course, that’s not all you’ll find. You can expect to see a wide variety of specialty products. The complete boutique shopping experience. You’ll find treats for your pup and handmade soaps; an assortment of cookies and cupcakes, cheese, wine, coffee, bison meat, hanging baskets and plants. You’ll walk away with a rainbow of culinary riches – from the wide variety of locally based and community-oriented providers. Don’t forget to check out this week’s special activities: Music by Cliff Hillis (begins at 10am), Kid’s Yoga at 10am, Zucanoes to float all day and massages provided by Ocean Earth Wind Fire. Check out this week’s Market Newsletter, featuring Producer of the Week Paradocx Vineyard (based out of Chester County’s Landenberg) plus a delicious Three-Nut Basil Pesto Pasta recipe.
